Reference passage: 2nd Chronicles 20:15 “….for the battle is not yours, but God’s…”
You are tired. You are tired of everything and everyone…ok, maybe just some of everything and everyone. The point is you are burned out and you need to charge yourself back up. In my last post I talked about being emotionally tapped out and how being a mom to three children, a wife and an entrepreneur can be emotionally(as well as physically)draining. The question is, how do you get it together? How do you stay focused?
One of the strategies I have used is my 5R Strategy. When everything is coming at you one time and you start to get that overwhelming feeling, this is where you must be strategic in untangling yourself from the situation.Ignoring the problem, will not make it disappear( I have tried and failed miserably). I had to pray to God for guidance and help in navigating through my challenging circumstances, as I realized that I could not do it on my own. We must be honest with ourselves and recognize when we need help, before we can implement changes.
So what is the 5R Strategy? It is a simple process that can help you to get your life back on track.
Stage 1: Recharge – Pause and hit that Reset button. Get some rest, read a book, watch a movie, listen to some music, talk with God or just do whatever makes you relax.
Stage 2: Reevaluate –Take a look on your situation. Take a closer look at your personal, professional or business life and examine the areas where you are having difficulties.
Stage 3: Refocus- Create goals – This is where you focus on creating goals and set priorities to help you get back on track. These goals must be specific, measurable, attainable and have a reasonable timeline.
Stage 4: Regroup- Find a solution for your problem(s) and implement strategies that will help you to get back on track.Reach out to individuals or organizations that can further assist you with your problem(s). If you are struggling with bad credit, consider enrolling in a credit repair agency and reach out to individuals who can give you sound financial advice.
Stage 5: Recoup- This stage involves analyzing how successful you are in implementing your strategies and realizing your goals.Tracking your goals weekly or daily, will help you to stay focused and know when to modify solutions or change strategies that have not been working.
You can do this. You can get your life back on track. Right here. Right now. Hit that reset button, evaluate your situation, focus on what you need to do, implement solutions and track their effectiveness. Just remember that your problems did not appear overnight, so you must be patient and trust the process.
